PINK MARTINI concert rescheduled for spring 2022
9 April 2022, Sala Palatului
10 April 2022, Fratelli Studios
“Pink Martini is a musical adventure around the world. If the United Nations had a band, we’d be it.” – Thomas Lauderdale, pianist/band founder
After the December 2018 performance of Pink Martini, “the biggest little band”, in Bucharest of winter-themed songs as well as Romanian songs by Marea Tănase, the promoter Events is pleased and delighted to invite you, on 9 and 10 April 2022, at Sala Palatului and Fratelli Studios club, to two new Pink Martini performances with soloist China Forbes, one of the most beloved female voices in the world.
Inspired by the music of all peoples and wanting to include all genres – from pop to jazz to classical music – in his repertoire without reproach, Thomas Lauderdale founded Pink Martini in 1994. Initially, to provide more beautiful musical backdrops, more suited in their variety to international events aimed at raising funds for causes such as civil rights, affordable housing, the environment, libraries, education or parks.
Twenty-five years later, playing in 22 languages, Pink Martini sounds just as good, fresh and powerful on tour around the world, on stages in opera houses, concert halls, film festivals, museums and fashion shows. In 2014, Pink Martini was inducted into both the well-known Hollywood Hall of Fame and the Music Hall of Fame in Oregon, the city of its birth.
In 2022, Pink Martini returns to Romania with the superb soloist China Forbes, who was co-opted into the orchestra in 1995 by Thomas Lauderdale, her former Harvard classmate, with whom she would later compose many of the band’s famous songs, including “Je ne veux pas travailler”.
Tickets can be bought exclusively on Eventim.ro or from Eventim’s partner stores – Vodafone, Telekom, Diverta, Cărturești, Carrefour and OMV petrol stations.
Tickets that have already been purchased will remain valid for the new dates.
We invite you into the warm and welcoming world of Pink Martini, to lose yourself for a few hours in the depth of a unique soloist’s voice and to savour the richness of rhythms lovingly gathered from all over the world.
